Talking Here to learn

Hey everyone, I have been considering making the jump to a rebreather rather than going from a single tank to doubles to slung/stage bottles and so on. Seems logical to just spend the money once and be done with it. So, i am here to help me decide what type to get, OC or CC, etc. I figure i will get a more objective view here than i will with a shop who is trying to push whatever product they carry. Anyway, i look forward to picking a few brains and meeting you all soon!

Re: Here to learn

Welcome to Rebreather World. As a new Rebreather owner it was a big help surfing around this site, tons of information to keep you busy for several days. A big suggestion is to investigate who's diving RB in your area, making friends and hope to talk them into letting you test drive them in a pool - just make sure they're there to keep an eye on you. Many times instructors will have several units you can demo as well.

Think about where you want to take your unit and pick all their brains and just keep asking questions. Once you get a few units in mind talk to your local instructor/s they'll have loads more info for you as well.

Rebreather over OC in my opinion is totally worth it, especially for technical diving, but this is coming from someone who just made the switch. Good luck with your search.
