Greetings from Nebraska

Howdy from the great state of Nebraska! I've been lurking here for some time and figure it was time to get rid of that little message telling me I had not yet posted to this site before!

My name is Gifford, and as stated above, I currently reside in Nebraska, Omaha to be specific. I've been a certified diver since 82, but am just now really starting to get back into it, thanks to a close friend FINALLY getting certified. He's only been talking about it for 20 years!!!

Right now I'm working on just putting together a good Hogarthian/DIR style rig to begin my venture into technical diving. However, I've set myself a goal to squirrel away enough cash to get into a CCR unit within the next 5 years or so.

For fun, other than SCUBA, I enjoy shooting AR15s and 1911s and have built up a small side business selling Tactical Gear, Camelbaks and accessories for AR15s. I'm also finding that a number of my customers are also into SCUBA, which I found somewhat interesting. Who would've thought that shooting and diving would go together so well!

Welcome to the board Giff. I'm originally from Omaha myself. Some of my family is still there. Where do you dive out of? I know there are only a few shops in Omaha. I may have a little PM to tell you about one of them...

Thanks for the welcome! Right now I'm diving primarily with the Lincon Shops, Husker Divers and Heartland, but I work with an instructor from Mid Coast. I'd love to catch Terry on a good day when I could pick his brain on his Evolution, but have not been that lucky yet. I may also try Mid Coast's intro to Rebreathers this summer on one of his Dolphins.
