Hi From Glasgow

Hi there,

Been diving open circuit for 7 years now (single, pony twins) and have been swayed by the cost argument for trimix rebreathers versus o/c.

Hopefully I can gain some information on these boards that just may convince me to buy a r/b unit reasonably soon (as soon as I have sold a kidney :>)

Cheers for now

Hi,
Yes, that's exactly the argument that's making me look at closed circuit.
After I rent J's of o2 and helium pay for whips/booster/gas blending AND a tri-mix course (for o/c) I would be halfway to the price of a rebreather anyway, and as you say the unit would recoup gas costs very quickly.
Just having a quick read on the boards and I dont seem to be alone at arriving at this conclusion.

Good to know others have been down this road, just that initial cost to get over :>(

And of course picking an actual unit....

Cheers

Dredd
