The more OC diving you do the more habits you will have to change when you make the switch. In short transition sooner than late.Good Luck

| CK+Shearwater ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: hi need a litt advice If you are a careful, nitrox qualified Sports Diver with an interest in kit maintenance and dive planning then yes- look into it. If you are interested in getting Dive Leader "so you can do 50mtrs" and like slinging on any old kit for a dive then no- forget it. If you have any Rebreather divers in your club they'd be the best people to speak to, if not then find a nearby club with some and go dive with them and see what they think of you and you of the rebreathers. Seeing them in the flesh makes a difference and is the only way for you to judge the quality of the different units available. Its all good and well worth doing if you do plenty of diving, but its expensive, time consuming (to start with) and will put you back to basics again for about a year. I'm saying all that because its all relative- one SD can be very different to another in terms of skills and experience, almost impossible to judge from here. best of luck, BEN

Current Rebreather/s: | Re: hello hi there, im in exactly the same boat as you and i think ccr is the way to go. ive asked numerous instructors worldwide and they all have different course prereq. i nearly have 25 dives done and alot ot them said, 100, 50 have to be adv, nitrox but if not you can combine the 2 together, it dont make sence, when doing the mod 1 limits you 2 40 mts on air with no stops. i have found 2 instructors that will accept you and are legends, pm me if you need more info. when i asked this a few weeks ago i didnt get as good a reply as you , take care and go 4 it |
