Inspiration Cases.

How do folks

I was wondering if anyone out there has the new cases on their inspo - the one with the two rubber catches as opposed to the four plastic clips?

My query is to do with the shape of the side of the black halfof the case and the fact that its not exactly easy to mount suit / 02 bottle onto it as there is two sections of the mould that stick out. Dunno if this making sense

but if anyone knows what im driving at.... then how did you go about getting around this problem? So far i have had to cut slots into these sticky out bits and run velcro straps through them. this works ok but i would like to hear from anyone that maybe has a come up with a sturdier way of mounting cylinders onto the side of the case.

Cheers

James.

Re: Inspiration Cases.

It's easy, cases come pre-drilled with 2 holes to fit a metal mounting bracket (made by MetalSub for AP), you then use standard MetalSub cylinder kits & of course mount their battery packs.

I mount a suit inflation bottle & MetalSub battery this way.

Here's a picture of the bracket attached to case:

I'll attach a picture when I get chance.

Are these on the MetalSub website or APs?

Re: Inspiration Cases.

They are Metalsub brackets but made for AP (flat to suit the flat side of the inspo and evo cases). They are distributed by AP.

I use a small suit cylinder and I use the normal O2 strap threaded through webbing attached to the suit cylinder.

Re: Inspiration Cases.

The AP/Metalsub brackets also fit the KT travel frame with a little innovation... cracking solution and rock solid.

Re: Inspiration Cases.

...and the REALLY good news is that they are MetalSub standard in terms of the size, so will also take the full range of MetalSub battery packs & torches with quickreleases (see Welkom bij Metalsub ).

Depending on the depth I go to, I either fit bailout cylinder(s) to it, or a MetalSub torch, or a combi.

I have replaced the top weight of the unit with a 1-liter steel cylinder for suit inflation. Has almost the same weight.
I fix the 1-liter cylinder with a set of Halcyon mounting straps (see Underwater Explorers ). They fit in the same two bolt slots with which the topweight is orignally attached to the Inspiration, so no drilling needed!

Ciao,

tino.
