Grief. To trim to hang horizontal on a stop with no movement I need 3K in the pouch and another 2K shot bag thrown in on top of the scrubber.but then I always was considered an air head....

| Re: Trim????? on the weight side i need 4kg in each pocket + 1 kg in top pocket to sink this is in freshwater. i have tryed to drop weight down , dive but for me it dose not work, 1st dive after course, took out 1kg from each pocket plus took 2kg from top, just stayed on surface got out to ut more weight on, next time no weight in top but 3kg in one pocket 4 kg in other ( + 7lt stage bottle ,faber ) got down but had to fin could not do 3M stop , tryed again with 3kg in each pocket + 2 kg in top still stayed on surface, got back out to add more wight so looks like i will have to except that i will need to use this amount of weight to sink, pain in the ass as at 20M i am over weighted and need to put S**t loads of gas into suit at the moment iam p***ed off with the weight i need to put on but it look's like i will have to get used to it for the time be in. my hight 5Ft 5 in my weigth 10 stone on oc did not need any weight with 2x12lt safe diving dave |

| Re: Trim????? In all honesty if you think it's fun with the standard box wait till you try the KT for the first time ! It seriously messes with your trim if you even try to follow any kind of preformed ideas I used to dive my standard vision with 3kg on top + 2 or 3 kg either side on the waist .I left the same weights on the KT & couldn't get my head of the bottom In the end I removed all extra lead & I am fine for trim but it does really call for a swimming pool or shallow muddy puddle .I would never go back to the standard box though

| Re: Trim????? Hi, I am very new to this but had a similar issue on my training course. My instructor suggested that I pull the unit down so it's lower on my back, I did this and my orientation improved, but during the dive the unit kept riding up slowly and rotating me forward. I fitted a crotch strap and don't seem to see the issue anymore, unless I forget to connect it .You didn't mention if you use a crotch strap. My unit was second hand and didn't come with one so I just fitted one myself. Much better now, well orientation is, buoyancy is still on the 'learning curve'!!! HTH. John

| Re: Trim????? running correct min counterlung volume will really help with the top weight, and as someone else said use a crotch strap to hold the unit down. wearing too much lead on the waist means too much gas in the wing/suit, which will migrate to the top giving you head up or migrate to the bottom which will stick your bum in the air. If you use drysuit only for bouyancy try jetfins, they negate the need for ankle weights (at least they do for me) HTH Dave |
