| Tanks in Australia Hello All I am currently living in Dubai and am awaiting the delivery of my Evo early next month (counting down the days). Later this year I will be relocating to Perth in Australia and have already given up any hope of being able to take my cylinders for my Evo with me when I go as I have heard plenty about he strict (and inflexible) rules in place regarding dive cylinders over there. I have asked AP but it seems that they can provide Australian approved valves but not tanks. ![]() Is there anybody out there who can advise where I can source cylinders for the Evo in Australia, or better still in Perth? I will be coming initially for a holiday in May and then move there permanently in shortly after. Ideally I'd like to get the tanks ready for the May holiday and then leave them there ready for the permanent move. Can anybody help/advise? Thanks in advance

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Tanks in Australia You should be able to get the cylinders stamped, as they will still meet the Australian standard as they are manufactured to a BS. However, the kicker is finding valves with a burst disc, you can get the cylinders stamped easily without the valves and as for filling, it depends if you LDS will fill cylinders without the burst disc, my guess is no... PM for diving contacts in Perth. |

| Re: Tanks in Australia Thanks Jasonvds AP are issuing my Evo with the required burst disc on the valves at a small additional charge (they were very helpful in this regard). However, I understood from many people I have contacted in Oz (dive centres and divers) that while it is theoretically possible to get imported tanks stamped, in practice the paper trail and procedure rendered it a non-starter .If you can advise otherwise I would be most grateful and will happily bring my tank with me, but as I say I have been led to believe this is not really an option. ![]()

| Re: Tanks in Australia One other option is to buy a couple of 15lt's out there & get a decanting whip! I'm sure the burst disc thing went out about 20 years ago in the UK. ![]() James. |

| Re: Tanks in Australia good news are that tanks are fairly cheap in Perth. I'm sure Chris or Steve of CCR diving will be along soon to help you out in Perth area. That's if they haven't been on the plonk all night Luke @ image dive would be another to get you up & running, I should think.

| Learning to Kiss ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Tanks in Australia Scuttle is right, tanks are cheap here in Perth, cheaper than over east as far as I am aware Have a look at this place - the dive superstore and if they aren't suitable pm me or get in touch with Luke from image dive as previously suggested. Image dive are the local rebreather friendly dive boat, and Steve from CCR Diving will probably be your AP contact in Perth, failing that I think there is a large Inspiration/Evolution contingent in Sydney, and at least two Inspiration divers in Perth.Anyway, pm or get in contact with any of us, and we will lead you astray when you get here ![]() Cheers, Ben. |

| Ladies bring a plate ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Tanks in Australia Actually I cant be of any help. AFAIK the tanks that fit in the EVO case haven't been given the tick in Australia yet. I think Jason Blackwell at Dive Dive Dive was looking into this. I'm quietly confident that if you take Jasonvds up on his offer you will get some joy though. ![]()

| Re: Tanks in Australia Before you get your valves make sure of the threads as most of Aust uses 3/4npsm and AP are M25. I think Ap do 3/4 valves as well? What size cylinders do I have to find in the shed? Drop buy and see us as there will be another Evo coming over shortly as well! I can source all your gas requirements. |
