Smoothing the edges on the YBOD t-pieces?

I am having difficulties to install the breathing hoses to the t-pieces. I changed all the 8 o-rings that sit between the t-pieces and the breathing hose ends. With the new o-rings it is really tight to puish the hose fittings to the t-pieces. Now it happens on occasion that the o-ring pops up from its groove and ends all tits up in between the hose end and the t-piece

I noticed that the t-piece edge is sharp. There is no chamfer or fillet on the edge. I thought that I could just smoothen the edge a little with smooth abrasive paper.

What do you think will it work? I am thinking of just a little sweep....

sorry mate...dont have a problem seating the O rings... occasioanlly its a pain starting the threads esp on the exhale lung but no probs with Orings.

Can you tell is your YBODs t-pieces edges sharp or are they rounded a bit? I have heard that AP has modified the t-pieces in that way also.

The problem comes up when I change to new o-rings (AP supplied). Now I have changed all the rings two times. First in 2005 and now again. With old rings there is no problem, I guess they get "flat" in use...

Still I am tempted to smooth the edges a bit. On the last dive I had a small leak on the t-piece to scrubber hose connection due one o-ring that had jumped out from its groove. It did not show in neg or pos...

Hi ... currently a few hundred miles from my unit... will have a look when I get home..unless someone else can comment earlier... mine is a 2005 vintage unit... Inspo Vision
