Vision HUD

I've decided to move my HUD so it comes over my right hand shoulder; so I can get a better grip on the LHS of the mouthpiece (I'm righted handed) & also so I get an un-obscured view of the VR3 on my left hand arm.

Was easy to do, followed instructions from APD provided in a very detailed PDF file with pictures!
[PDF is attached to post #8]

Here's an image of the head with the HUD cable removed showing the two green LEDs; this demonstrates that the light is generated by LEDs' in the head that are near the electronics. Fibre optic cables carry the light to the display unit near the mouthpiece.

Necessary to turn unit on to identify the two cables to carry green light in given orientation.

Cheers
Jonathan

Re: Vision HUD

I am not sure why you had to remove the cable from the head? I have ran my HUD over the right side as well but I routed it through the exhale cut out in the housing. Could you let me know if this is a bad idea and if so why? Thanks

Re: Vision HUD

Hi,

I am using it on the right side too. Routed through the cut-out on exhale side. Now just the position of green and red is upside down...

taking the cable off just swaps the LEDs back over so that they are the same way up as they are on the other side, otherwise nothign wrong with just moving it over

Available to Vision owners by contacting APD, I'd rather not attach PDF here.
Why not?

As Beanie says, so green lights are on the bottom & red on top. You want the red lights to be more prominent in your vision.

I've attached APD's PDF file on how to disassemble & reassemble the HUD cable.
