| Rebreather World Writer ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | I like to change set point on the fly at about 12m and then monitor the rise in ppO2 during a gentle descent. A major contributory factor to the only time I've been seriously narked, was the speed of descent when I was conducting a OC deep air, working, no stop, bounce dive. Given that the "virtual" END increases faster on a Rebreather compared to the same rate on OC, I like to do things slowly. Looking forward to getting enough hours to start putting mix in the dil.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Folks, Remember that it is often difficult to read the inherent meaning of another person's post on the Internet. I cannot count how many times I have had to apologize because I read things into another person's post that just weren't there! It is even more difficult to read nuances when English (or God forbid, American) is not a person's native language. Let's all try to be gentle and not impute improper meanings to each others' posts. We're all here to learn and to help, after all. Rob

Pierre, When I say equipment check, I mean that in addition to looking for escaping bubbles, I take a quick look to see if my partner and I haven't left anything loose that has come un-done. For instance, I have seen hoses with quick disconnects that, while looking secure on deck, have been jarred loose when the diver jumped in to the water. In other words, nothing specific. Just an over-all scan. Cheers! Rob

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Neat idea. Talking of hoses becoming loose a tip I picked up recently, from one of my CCR students who posted on YD, was to fit an o-ring with a shortened cable tie around it to the Inspiration dil and O2 manual feeds to stop them popping off. If you fit it behind the retractable sleeve the hose will not pop off accidentally but can be removed by pulling the cable tie and disconnecting the hose. Cheers, Dave Cooper.
