| Hello and happy new year to all. In a couple of months I will be starting my MOD 1 Inspiration course, and I have decided that I always will carry a small bailout bottle. So I have thought about the possibility, of mounting the bottle below the yellow case, or so called "Buttmounted" because I like the idea of having the extra bailout permanently mounted, and since my upper body is long, it won't cause any problems. And it will also help kitting up, because I have to lean backwards for getting the inspiration to stand on the bench, when I am sitting down with it. I have always dived with longer twinsets, such as twin 12Litres and 18Litres, and like the balance of these longer bottles. That's why I am thinking of this idea! I have thought about getting a 3-5L Aluminium bottle for this use, and only for shallow diving to max 45M. Does any one in this forum, have any experience with this? Good or bad... Perhaps someone has pictures of their unit with the bailout mounted this way? Best Regards Michael |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: "Buttmounted" bailout bottle Haven't tried it yet, much less on an Inspo, but buttmounting might get you buttheavy. I've seen a couple of Inspos with small baiout/argon tanks mounted on top, though. Diving Equipment Specialty has some options: http://www.techdivetools.com/rebreat...spiration.html http://www.techdivetools.com/rebreat...o.html#bracket http://www.techdivetools.com/rebreat...ration_so.html Don't know if Narked AT 90 offers his stand for Inspos, but they've earned rave reviews from Kiss and Meg owners. Check the forums for them.

Best Regards Michael I use a butt mount on my deeper dives, but do not use any special hardware for it. Rather than add a frame, I just add two d-rings (one on each side)toward the back of my waist strap. I use stage rigging consisting of two large hose clamps, rope, and two clips. I make the rope just long enough to reach the d- rings at my hip. This configuration keeps the tank out of the way, and I have found it comfortable to dive. I have actually found that larger tanks are more comfortable than smaller ones, but I have used 30 cf, 40 cf, 50 cf, and 80 cf tanks this way. The biggest advantage is that you can easily remove the tank when you want to get out of the water. You can also move it to your side by undoing the clip at the top of the tank and swinging it around to a shoulder d-ring. Aloha, Charlie |

Check the forums for them. Unfortunately John doesn't have any stock stands that will fit an Inspo, but as always he could probably make a bespoke stand if required.Since there are already so many different versions of travel frames/metal boxes for Inspo's he hasn't seen the need to come up with his own version... At this point he'll probably come along and tell us that him & Brent have been secretly working on a new Inspo stand.... Neil

Have a look at the article about Comfort with a rebreather here: Cedric Verdier, Cave, Rebreather, Technical & Recreational Diving. Articles Cheers I have not found that to be the case using stage rigging, but I would imagine that an extra frame would create poor trim. Most of my stage tanks are either very slightly negative, or positive (my aluminium 80 with 10/50 tx floats if it has 2500 psi or less in it). Aloha, Charlie |

| Re: "Buttmounted" bailout bottle Thanks to all, for sharing your experience with me. I think I just have to try the bailout bottle in the water, butt mounted. I have never felt any unbalance, or bad trim with my stage bottles in aluminium, eventhough that I always carry them both in my left side. So thats why I have thought about this mounting, for having my sides clearon shallow diving. I find my stagebottles very neutral in the water, so it will be interesting to try with the bailout bottle butt mounted. Best Regards Michael. |

| Re: "Buttmounted" bailout bottle I have been using the older style baracket from DES for about 8 months now and really like it. I mount at 19 there and use it for shallower dives and when I go deeper, just leave it there with the stages. I am pretty tall and long bodied, so the length does not bother me at all. The bracket fits to the bottom of the case and makes the whole thing stand up at the perfect height to don the unit. I just added a bit more to the top case weight and I am fine with my trim. Not sure if DES maske these any longer or not. Someone here on RBW may have one laying around if you ask. |

I have one of the DES Titanium bailout brackets that I fixed to the bottom of the case, with a bottle in it sat up nicely, but it never made it to the water??!!!! Available if you want it? |
