It doesn't get in the way when I look at them and everything then is not all on one side... I just like having them balanced out... am a fussy cow ![]()

(Don't know why ![]() ) It affected my peripheral vision more.I find the handset strapped to my chest on the inner-left D-ring much more comfortable and you don't try to walk away from the unit with it still strapped to you... come on... those of you with 4th cells... you know you've done it... ![]() Alledgedly you can order it with the electronics on the right... wish someone had told me that before I ordered it... | Mark I spoke with AP last week and ordering it with electonics for the right hand is now a special order. No problem in doing it but it is a special order. I think this is a relatively recent change. Have you found out whether they will change the unit for you to a right hand one? It's worth asking. |

| Thanks Lou, Meant to get around to moving it across and doing a bit of a tidy... Probably time I did a follow up now I've racked up the hours. It'd probably be a little different knowing what I know now... Thanks again. Mark |

I started with my wrist unit on my wrist. It now resides on the inner D Ring on the LH counterlung. And yes, it is difficult to walk away from the unit when you've still got the display on your wrist.... Taking off a wet suit with my watch on is the other one I seem to do far to often. The other reason for not using the wrist straps is I can move it further away to read it!!, and I can use both thumbs on the buttons, which is a lot easier than 2 fingers from the same hand.Quote: (Originally Posted by mad) Alledgedly you can order it with the electronics on the right... wish someone had told me that before I ordered it... That would have been good. At the moment all the crap is on the left hand side and it feels crowded, so I do like the suggestion of putting the HUD on the right. |

| Re: Review of the Evolution by MAD My two cents CDN, 1.72 cents US or .5 pence. Buzzer in the case: No one I have run into (including inspiration divers) has put the buzzer in the case. I have seen a few inspiration divers wrap the buzzer around another hose when their retaining clip has broken (rental units) so a Velcro retainer would be appropriate. The other advantage to the Velcro retainer is during transport. I tend to loop my hoses into the case and leave my tanks separate for transport. That way the critical items are neatly protected by the case. I was always afraid of breaking the clip when I tucked away the buzzer. The tanks can be transported separately (for easy filling or storage). Regardless, I don’t find attaching the buzzer to the ADV to be a problem. It requires a little thought to discover the best procedure but it isn’t rocket science. Nitrox and Trimix options: As I purchased and continue to understand, Mike at SDS recommends and sells the units in North America full loaded. They are not really marketed as a base model with several of options. The ADV, Temp Stik, deco software is all sold as a package, which I found appropriate as it’s my intent to become fully Trimix certified. Sealed battery compartment: My unit was one of the first production models in North America. It is not completely sealed from the loop (no ‘o’ ring seal). If the option is available I would be interested in ‘upgrading’. Hopefully it’s just a matter of replacing the battery door. Can anyone confirm this? Wrist mounted computer and HUD: when I first received my unit I dove (dived) it the way I was trained. The handset on my left wrist and HUD on the left side of the mouthpiece. In this configuration, I found it challenging to see the computer around the HUD and the hose of the computer never sat correctly on my short arm with dry glove rings attached. I move the HUD to the right side without difficulty. Currently I hang the handset over my left shoulder and put my HUD back on the left side. My arm is free is the excessively long hose and I can find everything very easily. I don’t refer to the handset as often as the HUD provides me with the up to the minute details of the unit.
