| Inspiration Classic and flooding... Hi... I'm a new Rebreather diver, and I've bourgth an used Inspiration Classic, and I like the unit, so far... I've heard a lot bad stuff about this Rebreather, but there is one thing I'm still thinking about. The electronics in the head is not waterproof!? So, if I by accident is flooding the loop, is the unit then drowned for good!? Anyone who have tried this? Best regards and merry christmas Bo |

Best regards and merry christmas Bo Describe to me how you think you will achieve such a total flood? Short of a T piece falling off mid dive its unlikely to happen. If you get a flood stay vertical. Going horizontal or inverting is a very bad plan but the sea water still has to get past the scrubber and scrubber 0 ring before it hits the electronics. If the floods that bad shut up moaning about the cost of a new unit controler and thank your god your still alive. ATB Mark Chase

| Re: Inspiration Classic and flooding... I have never heard of someone with a total flood of their inspiration. Anyone who has? I've had dives where the exhale counterlung was 1/2 full due to operator error, two plus hours into cave dive (can't think of the reason right now but I recall it was terribly stupid at the moment) and dives where I have had excess water in the base of the scrubber, etc...all of these I would attribute to user error. The good thing is that the unit performed just fine!// Blomman I couldn't imagine what it would take to do a total flood, but then there are always hypothetical causes.... Enjoy diving your unit! | Re: Inspiration Classic and flooding... A friend of mine had his electronics flooded. I don't know why, but I do know that he did a positive and negative check before the dive. I think the water got in through the exhale connection coming out of the top of the electronics. It doesn't take much water to cause a lot of trouble. I don't know what the repair cost him, but I think it was about $700 US. As it has been said before, if you get gurggling, stay vertical and keep your unit vertical until you get somewhere to drain it. Anyway, that being said, I have never had more than a few tablespoons of water in my unit after a dive. The Inspiration must be one of the more difficult units to screw up with flooding. | Re: Inspiration Classic and flooding... Thank you all for your replies... As I said, I'm new and I've heard tons of sh*t about the unit. So I'm glad to hear that it isn't that bad at all . Thanks for the hints about staying vertical in case of a flood, I'll remember that, and hope not to flood it anyway ... Best regards... Bo |

You know, when you just spend a hole lot of your savings on a piece of equiment, then people are very quick to tell you how stupid you have been buying it, and how dangerous the unit is, and most likely kill you . But... with the numbers of units worldwide compared to the numbers deaths (One death is one to many) I don't belive it's that dangerous. Of couse if you are behaving stupid, you'll get what you deserve, just like driving your car. But what do I know, I'm new ...Best regards Bo |

How to deal with a flood condition as well as many other issues would be covered in the mod 1 course. . Thanks for the hints about staying vertical in case of a flood, I'll remember that, and hope not to flood it anyway ... Best regards... Bo John |

| Re: Inspiration Classic and flooding... In your Inspi mod1 training you will learn how to empty a half flooded counterlung, a total flooded loop i only can imagine when a white shark takes the breathing hoses with him then you can bail out |
