| Re: MOD 1 Class By the way it is for Evo with Vision Electronics. I did Vison Mod 1 in November. My guidance would be:Thanks - Read this list a lot - Read 'Mastering Rebreathers' by Jeff Bozanic - Download the Evo manual from APD and read it several times. It'll start to make sense after a while ;-) Alongside all that reading: - Get your kit sorted and dived before the course, especially if you're not used to diving with a stage - Fix anything that isn't working, as you'll be concentrating on the Evo on the course - Find somewhere decent to stay. I was pretty tired at the end of each day That did it for me - I passed first time without too many dramas. Good luck!

| Re: MOD 1 Class I agree with all of Phil's suggestions. I found the Vision manual the most informative but you should also read your Mod 1 course manual several times. Start reading both manuals early and it will eventually sink in. Charlie |

| Re: MOD 1 Class I don`t think he meant the evo. I assume he`s revering to everything else, such as the stage(s) you will be taking with you and making sure the rest of gear is good to go. Indeed - only spotted that fatal flaw in my wording on re-reading it.Robert Cheers,

| NA ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: MOD 1 Class I am a huge proponent on coming to class prepared. I have read through the Evo manual a couple times...some sections more than others. I'm not even taking a class on it, just doing my research. When I finally get to dive one in the pool I will be able to identify all the parts, have a pretty good idea of their function, not to mention the flow of gas throughout the loop..etc. Knowing all of this can only be helpful, not detrimental. I can then listen to my guide/instructor identify everything, explain the loop to me and it will just confirm what I have already read. There is not much room for debate about the parts and flow of gas within the loop. Diving techniques, safety concerns, experience sharing are all best left to the instructor...ie: I have read how to do a diluent flush on the Evo, but I think its best for it to be demonstrated by the teacher and then by me multiple times. This kind of learning cant be taught by a book.Toodles |
