It's possible that you have a set of lungs which had original, old size (smaller) t-pieces on, and they had an ADV fitted more recently, which required a larger port to be fitted on the inhale side.
I have coverted many units, I simply removed the original t piece (old style) and replaced it with the adv that was supplied.. Then changed the hose ends from the old style to new.. all of the units I converted were backlight versions.. so 2000ish or later

no cutting or anything.. I am wondering if there has been a more recent change..

Just to complicate things a little further... I changed my counterlungs at the start of the week from the original ones (my unit was number 3 - so as old as they get) to a spanking new pair. mmmmmm.

Swopped the adv and replaced the exhale T-piece for a new one without a hitch.

When you say 'port' I dont know whether you mean the hole in the bag or the lower portion of the T-piece inside the bag (with the gasket). I replaced the complete T-piece and gasket (as they look like they have a memory). The counterlung bag and outer bag were a little tight, but more of a good fit than a mis-fit.

Just thought I'd throw that in.

cheers

I was going to try and describe it. Perhaps you could take a photo to indicate the problem.

As for the new inhale T-pieces being clear, I'm baffled
