| Hi all, I have bought the Inspiration weight pouches and have been trying to work out how they fit properly. They have a velcro flap with a handle and a zip on the other side. The thing is that the back of the pouch has 3 pieces of webbing but the gap is huge! So when you put it on the waist band the hang really low. At the moment the pouches are upside down as they are better (but not much). Any tips or ideas? Thanks John Very new to CCR, only qualified on Saturday - Yeah!!! ![]()

| Re: Inspiration weight pouches Try fitting a heavy SS plate for starters. It got rid of my need for wt with a 3mm wetsuit. |

| Re: Inspiration weight pouches I need a lot of weight, always have. Even on OC with twin 12's and a stage bottle I used 13.5Kg. I am dry-suit diving by the way. I'm currently using 15.5Kg with the box. I will slowly try to reduce this amount but at the moment I need the pouches. JC

| Re: Inspiration weight pouches I found the AP weight pouches very difficult to use and tossed them in the trash. I switched to a custom integrated weight system along with a SS BP and harness. I think if you look at OMS they would have something that you could use. Rob |

The tapes seem to be supposed to go round the harness but they always slopped forwards so I ended up zip-tying the tapes to the loops at the back where the harness runs into the comfort pad. That stopped them falling forwards when I was trying to kit up. The other thing I did was bradawl some holes in it to put more zip-ties through the velcro panel so the only way in and out was via the zip. I prefer not to have a single point pull-here-to-die feature on my harness. Once they stay put and you can trust them not to do a sudden weight dump they're quite good. I still use a weight belt RIB diving and I much prefer the integrated effect. PS: Who is it at AP that who has shares in Velcro?

| Re: Inspiration weight pouches I put the weight in the pouches on my mod1 without the pouch, and yep... one fell out during a dive.. good job it was caught by a buddy and quickly put back in.. for the rest of the course I used the pouches but have now swapped the harness for an agir brok 6mm (5kg) backplate. Let me know if you want any photos of how it looks Safe diving Dave |

| Re: Inspiration weight pouches I am hoping to get lots of diving in over the next few months and then i'll make a decision on modifying any of it. I know that a lot of people change the harness for a CD or something similar. I have taken the auto-air off and put a normal inflator on it and have put a reg on the dill first stage and bungied it to the side of the box for easy access. I have also added a stainless lift bar, which does look bloody good! Anyone else out there done many mods to their units? Thanks JC

| Re: Inspiration weight pouches Mine came fitted with the AP weight pouches and I use them with no problem, I had one of the internal pouches missing so I don't use the internals at all. I have also fitted a Kent Tooling cage and took 10kg off my belt. If I fit my SS backplate I will need no weight at all! I've left the auto air on, I decided that they do work (I have used one at 75m on OC) and that it would just be another hose, it will go when I get a BOV though. I have fitted a reg with a flowstop on my O2, if I'm carrying it I want access to it. Waiting to buy a bracket for my airgon bottle. 4th cell adaptor ready, just need a pin for the VR£ to access it. |

| Re: Inspiration weight pouches The original AP weight pouches are good as storage pockets I have them at the back of the harness and can get a DSMB in. I use a Steel backplate and Transpack harness with Dive Rite weight pouches. Easier to use on a RIB when I unload the pockets before passing the unit up and in. Paul |
