| Urgent help Hello every one Any one have any idea if there is a time limit (or expiration date) for the inspiration lugs,
If you have one of the old machines and u want to add an ADV , the connection of the ADV doesn’t fit with the house that coming from the canister to the ADV and from the ADV to the mouth piece, do I need new hoses , one more thing I don’t have an extra hall in the manifold for the ADV and the one extra I have is on the side and if I connect the ADV with it the tank wont fit and the box wont close. My only solution is to take of the inflator from the manifold and add the ADV hose and make a custom made hose from the regulator directly to the BC? What do u think? Thanks for the help |

| Hello every one AP have made the Buddy range of BCs for many years. Quite simply the bladder system they use is the most robust kit you can buy. It takes a special amount of abuse to get them to leak.Any one have any idea if there is a time limit (or expiration date) for the inspiration lugs,

Thanks for the help My Buddy Comando is 1980s vintage and still sound. I would suggest that if you have a problem holding pressure in the unit, that the lung material is way down the hit of offenders. No.1 Is the manual Oxygen Inject. No.2 Is the Dill Inject. No.3 Is crap on the "O" rings.(you will be checking these after every disconect anyway) Just screw the mouthpiece at each end of each individual lung. The leak path will be obvious. (I check them in the bath). When you order an ADV let AP know what kind of Classic you have. They have two types of ADV. The (new) thread type to stop idiots getting the mouthpiece the wrong way round and the more sensible (versatile) single thread type. If you have bought the wrong ADV get it replaced. If you have bought the ADV second hand change the END fitting on the hose. A 90 degree bend from any LDS will sort out your hose routing problem. The magnet? Did this happen after some maintenance by yourself? It sounds to me you are not putting it back together properly. The magnets can be put in the wrong way round. A dab of Tipex makes sure it all goes back the way it came out. If they are corroded replace them. I'm a bit surprsied that all of this was not covered on your course. Lastly, please consider posting an introduction. Martin |

| Re: Urgent help dear Martin Thanks for your answer but your suggestion wasn’t really in place cos as simple as that I heard some one yesterday saying that there is a life limit for the lungs and I told him that its not true but still he way insisted, so I was wondering? Concerning the ADV yes I have a new one from AP but it looks like they sent me the wrong one that doesn’t fit my houses. Concerning the handset they just came back from AP maintenance and I did not use it yet, I am just trying it on land. And that what happened. Plus I am sure that u should know from my explanation before that I knew what I was doing, and everything was covered in my course no need to be surprised, But I think its nice to ask people who are well experienced with these subjects for me to get more knowledge about what other people do or think. If the magnet was put on the wrong side it wont work from the first place, my problem is that slider is working by it self with out me touching it (or the number are changing by then selves with out even touching the slider) Sorry for not introducing my self that was wrong I know I shall do it soon. But anyway thanks a lot for your time, to answer me. Have a nice day. |

If you are not sure of what is happening then you need to get your instructor to look at the equipment with you. As with any dive equipment if you are not sure that it is working correctly then I suggest that you dont dive with it. |

| Re: Urgent help dear Martin Ahhhh now I understand the question. .....I heard some one yesterday saying that there is a life limit for the lungs and I told him that its not true but still he way insisted, so I was wondering?... ....... the wrong one that doesn’t fit my houses........ .....they just came back from AP maintenance and I did not use it yet, I am just trying it on land..... AP have a lifetime warranty on their kit for the original owner. (as long it is not maltreatment) One of the drains pulled out of the outer cover of the lungs. Even thought my unit is over five years old it was fixed FOC. Proof positive that the warranty is hounored. (almost certainly it was my fault and not a manufacturing issue) Changing out the lungs (or the bladder in their BCs) is not a routine task. You have the wrong ADV. Speak to AP and they will change it out. Your initial post did not mention that the head had just been serviced by AP. .Without a corrosion build up on the magnets I cannot think how the slider is constantly on. A phone call to AP should point you in the right direction. Please post the result Welcome to Rebreatherworld! ![]() Martin |
