Tools and Spares - Vision

My Mod 1/Advanced Rec Trimix course is four weeks on Thursday and I can't wait. However, the time that I'll be getting the invoice from Nicky at APD and parting with my hard-earned cash (no sniggering at the back, Field!) is also drawing nearer :-)

To save shipping costs and make sure that I have spares and tools for the course, I'd like to order whatever bits I need now and get them shipped from APD with the box. I'm thinking of the following:
  • Buddy Clean
  • Interstage Pressure Gauge
  • Box Spanner
  • OPV Spanner
  • T-Piece Spanner
  • Manual Inflator Hex Key
  • Mouthpiece O ring kit
  • Mouthpiece Service Kit
  • Canister O rings
  • Scrim Kit
  • O rings - Convoluted Hose Fittings
  • 2 x 4.5 kg containers of Sofnolime
  • 2 x Batteries
Is there anything I'm missing? I haven't included the following for what I think are good reasons:
  • Spare sensors - I'm going to wait a few months, based on the expectation that they will last a while. That way, my replacements won't already be very old before I need to use them. I'm also thinking about buying them from a cheaper source ;-)
  • Narked @ 90 hose tool - I'll clearly have to order that separately
As ever, many thanks in advance,

Ah, thanks. That hasn't been too clear so far.

Cheers,

Re: Tools and Spares - Vision

Hi, even though the APD price list shows a box spanner as being supplied with the Inspiration, I didn't get one shipped with my Vision in February this year. My instructor spoke to APD and was told that there is no requirement for it on Visions as the cells are easy to get at.

Would be interested to know if other Vision users got the box spanner.

Lou did with hers but that was last June, but if you don't get one you don't really need one - unless you want to remove it to put a 4th cell holder in.

Re: Tools and Spares - Vision

Sorry, but what do the OPV spanner and the manual inflator hex key do? Is the OPV spanner a way to dismantle a drysuit dump valve?

Janos
Takes the OPV off the lung and the inflator base out of the lung, not need that often.

I have no doubt you work very hard (Does it still cost your client £250 for you to go take a p*ss?)

BTW- I know very little about the Inspiration, do you need a C-Spanner to adjust your IP on the Inspiration First stages? (Do they use Apexs or their own 1st stages now?)
It was the only tool I found tricky to get for my KISS, in the end got one from Techme.

No there UST so no seal hex key straight through the hole, i think the AP 1st stage has the same adjustment.
