You might consider reading the US military document on oxygen cleaning. STANDARD PRACTICE FOR PRECISION CLEANING AND TESTING OF SHIPBOARD OXYGEN, HELIUM, HELIUM-OXYGEN, NITROGEN, AND HYDROGEN SYSTEMS called 1330D and found here: http://www.supsalv.org/pdf/1330D.pdf Adiabatic heating can be reduced by SLOWLY opening the oxygen valve. Oxygen systems become contaminated by use and should be re-cleaned periodically.
