Airport Checking In

All,

When you travel with your units do you check the crate in through the normal checking in point or does it have to go in as oversized luggage?

Paul
When we went to Cyprus in March, the crate and a heavy suitcase went through the oversized baggage, but we had no choice about it.
Then the useless tw@ts decided not to put it on the plane so it was 24 hours late.
A right pain as I was on a course, fotunately I managed to borrow a Kiss out there (Thanks again Chris, if you ever read this) and dived wet for a day.

My crate has allways gone as oversize luggage.

Re: Airport Checking In

just flew to dallas....well, yesterday, and Im still here, but my meg fit in my carryon, in a rollerbag, the rest of the kit was in two bags in checked, including my jetsam baby booster, one bag was 49lbs the other was 76, got charged $50 for overbaggage weight on the one bag, otherwise, no problems. Blew through security (maybe blew isnt quite the correct word ) but they didnt even look in the suitcase with the booster in it, nor did they open the carryon with the meg in it. Guess they are getting used to me now.

Ron,

I think you are just rubbing it in. The question was posted in the Inspiration section. I too, take my Meg as carry-on luggage!

Re: Airport Checking In

I flew from Baltimore to Miami on American Airline a week and a half ago. I took my Inspo scrubber, electronics, hoses, Kent Tooling frame and misc on a carry-on at 38lbs. Also, the rest of the gear in two checked bags at 48lbs and 45 lbs. No inspections, no questions and no extra charges as everything was within wt limits.

Re: Airport Checking In

I've recently got back from Cyprus and had the Evolution mounted on a Decoweenie travel frame inside a large hard sided wheeled bag. No problems with check in at the normal desk as it just looks like regular baggage. I've travelled a few times like this and never had any hassle. Without lime and bottles the all up weight was 23 KG which again did not cause any problems with the airline.

I've flown with British Airways, Cyprus Airways, KLM and Air France over the last few years never with any trouble. Before the Evolution I had an Inspiration in a DT box which fitted in the wheeled bag, but the weight was up at 29 KG.
