vision bug??

Hi all,

I ran into a strange problem two weeks ago. I received a new vision a couple of weeks ago and it worked fine during three dives up to 43 meters. Dive four was a shallow dive in a local lake. I bumped up the low SP to .87. Why .87? No specific reason but to set the low SP slightly higher.

After 25 minutes: cell error for cell 3 on computer 2. C2 indicated half of the real PO2 for cell3. We surfaced since we were only at 6 meters. I did a computer reset of C2 and the problem went away. I continued the dive using the rebreather as an O2 rebreather. 20 minutes later identical problem. Cell warning on C2 for cell 3. Again, half of the real PO2. A reset fixed it again.

I contacted APD. They asked me to reload the software again. I did another test dive with the same result, but this time it was on computer 1 not on computer 2. The problem didn't reoccur after resetting the low SP to the standard value of 0.7.

APD asked me to sent my vision back. I hope to get it back by the end of this week.

Yesterday evening, I dived with a friend of mine in the same lake. I used my good old HH and he was diving his Vision. I asked him to set his low SP to 0.87. He did and, guess what .... He ran into the same error.

So this sounds like a software bug.

Has anybode experienced the same thing? Also, could I ask to test for this as well when you do a shallow dive? It would be interesting to find out if we can reproduce this on other visions.

I've included a close-up of the problem.

You see that suddenly the measured value of the last cell drops in half and I get a cell error. Seeing that I'm shallow I immediately do an oxygen flush. I'm at +/- 5 meters, cell 1 & 2 bump to 1.53, which should be correct given depth and gas. Cell 3 stays at 50% of the other values.

Rebooting the controller solves the issue.

I then changed setpoint to 0.70 again, and had no problems anymore for the remainder of the dive.

I found the log file as well. The error is identical.

After 21:38 dive time, cell 3 goes from 0.85 to 0.45 and continues to give half of the real value. Luckily it is out voted straight away so the measured PPO2 is not affected.
