New problem with vision elecs

Hi all

after my 1st dive today 47m for 60min all was good with my unit, switched it off for a few hours whilst we had lunch.

Came back to the unit for a second dive, switched it on went through the usuall self diagnostic check's then missed deco started flashing on the handset.

Now we did not miss any deco stops but seeing as i run deco of my VR3 as i only have the basic vision timer-software (no deco nitrox/trimix software) you can imagine my surprise.

The HUD showed all green, the PO2 info was correct so i elected to dive but take it easy. On decent i stoped at 6m and flush the loop to confirm the PO2 info, all was well so off we went for a 40min dive. On the dive there was no missed deco warnings shown on the hand set or HUD. But as soon i surfaced there it was again flashing on the handset MISSED DECO. As i have stated i dont even have the intergrated deco software on my unit.

AP will be getting a phone call tomorrow morning no fail, anyone else had any problems similar to this?? i am running the latest software update 02.01.02 before this on the old software 02.01.01 i had no problems with the software.

Gareth,

I had a similar problem on a borrowed vision (prior to receipt of my own). Mine was caused by a low battery problem early in a pool session. I shut down C1 and then turned it back on. This seems to cause havock with one of the software settings. I replaced the offending battery and hopped back in the pool and the error cleared. I was told (by someone who has had this issue before) that this bug was resolved in the latest software update.

Cheers

Nick

Hi Nick

Both batteries are new, as shown on the battery indicator on the display (they have about 4hrs switched on time only) the software i have is the latest version, i had no problems on previous software upgrades just the latest one. I will ring AP and see what they say.

Re: New problem with vision elecs

Just chased AP up today on this issue, I have sent them a download of the latest CCX file to them yesterday as requested. And there answer was to download the latest software again, and it should solve the problem

I will give it a go and see what happens, can anyonre email the prevoius update 02.01.01 just incase, because with this software i had no problems and i am off for a weeks redsea liverboard soon and dont want to have this problem when i am away,as we will be doing multi-days diving and i dont fancy missed deco flashing up all week.

well, you know, i'm getting to the point where I'm very reluctant to do a software update unless i actually have a problem with the current one. I have yet to upgrade to the latest version for fear of having problems. Everything is working fine on my unit for now, why would i do an upgrade when it's obvious that there could well be new problems.

I had this exact problem and thought it may have been a bat issue but the problem continued after replacement. I called SDS and was informed that there is a glich and in order to bypass it you must press and hold your power up button until it beeps this should clear the missed deco. I was just tapping it until the unit fired up. I have not yet tried it but they seemed to be very aware of the problem and are going to send another update to handle the problem.
