| Submerge Productions Current Rebreather/s: | quick connect for O2 hose to solenoid I was wondering whether anybody was using a quick connect for the hose that goes to the solenoid. A quick connect would make it easier to take the head out of the frame/case. |

| Re: quick connect for O2 hose to solenoid Peter, Steven just shipped a bunch of parts for me as I am planning to do either or both:
Unless I could place it in such a manner that I could reconnect u/w if accidentally disconnect, I might skip it. Still thinking...

| Submerge Productions Current Rebreather/s: | Re: quick connect for O2 hose to solenoid Peter, I'm not too worried about reconnecting. I would not reconnect under water since that would bring salt water into the solenoid. I'd rather fly the unit manually. I'm more worried about the QC getting disconnected and either of the connections stuck in an open position. That would either cause water entry (solenoid) or deplete your O2 supply. DrMike mentioned this problem about the GCS system in another thread.Steven just shipped a bunch of parts for me as I am planning to do either or both:

A quick connect would make it easier to take the head out of the frame/case. I had a Swagelok QC 4 with shutoffs laying around and did just that. It was a female 1/4" NPT. I just used a tap and rethreaded it to fit (also made an O-ring recess on the lathe) . If I was going to do it again, I'd use a QC6. The flow rate on the QC4 is marginal at times.
