John Garvin is one of the leading technical instructors with a great insight into the workings and practical use and teaching of our Inspiration and Evolution rebreathers” stated Martin Parker, the Managing Director of Ambient Pressure Diving. “The professionalism of Garvin and TDI has taken CCR training to a new level.” “The student manual primary author is John Garvin, a CCR Instructor for the Inspiration since it was first launched in 1998 but there have been several other highly qualified Instructor Trainers and Instructors that assisted with input and final review”, stated Steve Lewis, SDI/TDI Director of Product Development. Lewis continued “The PowerPoint® and Instructor Guide were developed by Stephen Phillips of SDI/TDI UK and David Kitchen of SDI/TDI South Africa, both very accomplished dive educators. “This is a generously illustrated manual with excellent photographs and diagrams, and the Inspiration / Evolution CCR product line is the first we have developed using multiple contributors and input from our complete product development team,” said Lewis. He continued “There are currently several other CCR manuals in development and we have scheduled their release to be within the next 6 months.” “Although the project took longer to develop than expected, we are very excited with the final product”, stated Brian Carney, President of SDI/TDI. “The student manual, Instructor Resource CD (Instructor guide, exams, PowerPoint) and workbook were designed to work in conjunction with manufactures owner’s manual.” Technical Diving International (TDI) is the largest technical certification agency in the world. TDI is part of the parent company International Training which also offers programs through Scuba Diving International (SDI) and Emergency Response Diving International (ERDi). | Re: TDI Unveils NEW Support Materials for Inspiration / Evolution CCR Course Nice job on the manual. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago when I was actually in class for my Evolution (through IANTD). Very well thought out imo. Erik |

Actually this is an inaccurate statement. BSAC was the first major training agency to release support materials, including a student manual plus an instructor manual and a full set of PowePoint slides. Both the student and Instructor manuals are illustrated by photographs and diagrams. There are versions for the Classic Inspiration and the Evolution and Vision CCRs. So, in actual fact TDI are the second major training agency to release courses fully supported by dedicated material. BSAC were at least 12 months ahead and clearly lead the way, TDI folowed. | Re: TDI Unveils NEW Support Materials for Inspiration / Evolution CCR Course BSAC was the first major training agency to release support materials I think it depends upon the definition of "major" .TDI are major globally, including the UK, BSAC are major in the UK. ![]() Dan Last edited by Pugwash : 29th August 2006 at 18:12. |
