| Sodding Leaky ADV Can the unbounded wealth of experience out there help me please?: My quiet Classic has just started not being quiet. First noticed it when I could not achieve min loop volume and had to keep venting..... No problem I thiught this is what the flow-stop has been fitted for but oh no that also decided to let-by. I ended up having to turn off the pillar valve after making me old pal Mick F aware of what the hell I was doing. Anyhoo on cleaning the counter lungs I noticed that there were bubbles being created between the metal core and the T-piece on the direct feed banjo fitting end inside the T-piece. We can not find an exloded diagram of this item so can anyone help me with DETAILED dismantling instructions and / or an exploded diagram. Many thanks Midnight BTW the flow-stop now works when it feels like it. I will sort that out later. |

| Re: Sodding Leaky ADV Thanks J4F, Bit of an update.I will strip it down tonight and give it the old vinegar and silicone treatment. Thanks for your help. Regards Midnight It has taken me a while to fix the above as I could not get an extract tool for the locking ring that I was happy with as the only circlip pliers that can spread far enough apart have pin-ends that are too fat to fit in the holes in the locking ring. I contacted APD who told me that they are well aware of the need to produce a tool and service kit for the ADV unit and one will be available in a very short while (I decided not to hold my breath!!). What I ended up using was a set of craft dividers with a locking screw on them, I filed down the points very slightly to avoid any disasters so close to the diaphragm. They did the job perfectly and as the holes in the locking ring do not go all the way through no damage was done to the diapragm cover either. After removing the tilt-boss the rest of the assembly came out very easily and had some small white powdery deposits these were carefully removed and a very fine smear of silicone grease was applied before reassembling the unit. It took a few seconds to work out the correct orientation of the lever and lever pin but it is a ver easy service to do. A small smear of water with the ADV under pressure and purged a few time proved that it was also a successful service. Thanks again to J4F for his exploded diagram it gave Mrs. Midnight a great deal of confidence to see that I was following the insructions for a change!!! "But Darling...... IKEA must have made it to stand at that angle"!!!! Regards Safe Diving Midnight |
