| Just wondering how to increase the flow through a manual inflator (dil only), or replace the inflator for the same effect - any ideas please?

You could wind the IP up.Replace the nipple from a AP one to an Apeks one (or another mfg) - which has a larger bore. Remove the ability to disconnect altogether, and use a barbed fitting and plain hose with no fitting on. May I ask why? |

| Re: Idle question about manual inflators... Was idly wondering how I could flush quicker and maybe fill a DS quicker. Was also looking at ways to massively increase buoyancy quickly. The first was for situations like Dave Shaw where there is no BOV or it won't work well enough at depth. Would be good to press a button/open a valve and flush the loop instantly. I think a fitting + cylinder would be the only guaranteed fast way, unless something like the Meg ADV will do the job? Don't you guys find the Dil button on the Inspo a bit slow? And didn't Cedric have some buoyancy issues on his deep trips? Or was that just unexpected gas usage? Again, if you are in free-fall at depth, a fast inflator or some massive increase in buoyancy would be nice. Clearly, they also need some pretty good dump valves... Idle thoughts...

If you used a LP hose, the hose would explode, if you used a HP hose, the gas flow would be less than with a LP hose, due to the tiny bore inside the HP hoses.![]() Knowing that you're a bodger, how about getting an old car airbag? You get to depth, give it a twat, and BANG - instant inflation - you could experiment with side impact bags and steering wheel bags to find one that gives the correct volume! |

| Re: Idle question about manual inflators... Plug an old Poseidon Jetstream on the CL That should give enough gas when you purge it...Or adapt it to be used as the ADV. JH |
