Re: Ultralight Inspiration

When you mention lightest Inspo possible, are you saying it weighs close to the Evo or what? 20-24kg?

HELLO TO EVERYBODY,
just got back in my town after a long vacation.

First of all thank you very much for all the comments you wrote about the Ultralight Inspo.
I am going to reply to some questions about the rig;

The first stages I have used are :
for diluent side SCUBAPRO MK20 ULTRALIGHT - Balanced Piston first stage; it is the one in dark grey in the pictures; I bought it in Italy, I don t know if you can find it in USA or somewhere else; This first stage is VERY light, even thought it seems to have some trouble with galvanic current (it make rust pretty soon if not serviced properly every year).

for Oxygen side SCUBAPRO MK20 STANDARD - Balanced Piston first stage; it is exactly the same but in normal version, no special alloy are used; standard weight. It is the silver one (standard color) in the pics, on the oxygen cylinder. I was just considering to use the "ultralight" (alloy metal) for the oxygen.... but no idea if it work out well... no idea if oxygen and special alloy are compatible... that s why I used a standard first stage for oxygen.

The strap I used araund the canister is a standard tank strap; of course you have to be very cautious in closing it, you don t want to force it in order to do not damage anything...

well....
my Vision is now back to his standard configuration and I already dove it several time in italy...
it was nice thought to have it on the other side of the world!

thank you again,
take care

It's not an issue of scratches or protection from impact, more about crushing or deforming the scrubber casing by overtightening the cam band

I would be extremely cautious with this, if you do it up and damage it by being to tight you at least notice it's damaged. If you however JUST not damagae it, it might still be tight enough to wedge the scrubber in place. In that case the springs cannot push the scrubber against the sealing O-ring and you risk CO2 bypassing the scrubber.

Cheers,
Paul
