Fitting a CD lift bar...

Following on from Beanie's thread I have recently bought one of this to fit to my inspiration. Problem is I'm not the most technical girl in the world and it has come with a distinct lack of instructions as to fitting it onto the unit.

I don't know anyone locally who's I could have a good look at, to see how it's done, so I was hoping someone here might be able to help.

So exactly how does it fix on, where and what tools will I need? (and is this a job to ask Mdemon to help me on in 2 weeks time when he's down this way?)

It's not fun.
You need to strip off the harness and remove the bolts that hold the old handle. Then it needs two more holes and they don't line up well so you pick the nearest points and drill there. Then bolt everything back up and start trying to remember how the harness threaded up.

Rude words will be said at various points along the way.

Well worth it but not a fun job. Sorry an' all.

Mine is the old box (4 catches), all you did was remove the old handle and bolt the new one strait through the old slots, takes about 5 minutes.
You may need to undo the top bolt on the harness.

I think I trust you and Padowan to atleast keep it looking like it's supposed to. I shall of course be on standby for any first aid emergencies

Just don't forget there might be much destruction next weekend, so best to get them before they get saw and axe happy with the trees

Very good point! I won't be there too early though, bear in mind it's a 4 hour drive up to you guys for me from the end of the earth.

Hi Lou,

Does that mean that the trees seem to be on everyone's list of tasks at the BBQ??

Well the garage door didn't get fitted last night so there's that as well

Mary - will make sure that there are drills etc to fit the lift bar
