I guess it depends on how narrow the bite of the scubapro mouthpiece is.The Evo manual (pg 134) doesn't encourage changing if it's too narrow as it will increase WOB. Zé. |

| Re: replacement mouthpieces Why do you want/need to change the mouth piece ? I "need " to change mine on my vision as the standard one leaks where my lips will not seal properly (have tried 3 other inspo's with same results so it is me ) I would stress ** try it in the pool first **after changing the mouthpiece ,I changed mine on Saturday inbetween dives with the result that a minor irritation became a serious problem at 30m when everytime I breathed all that could be heard was a constant booming noise .The new mouthpiece leaked a 100 times worse than the original and within 15mins had filled the exhale lung & put 3 inchs of water into my canister. So please be carefull .

Is the AP position that their wider one is the only one to use based on thats all they have tested and used in the CE certification process? What should I look for in my test dives to figure out if its working well or going to kill me?

I think that as time goes on from qualifying you gradually start to relax instead of hanging onto the mouthpiece for all you are worth & therefore your lips are more relaxed & seal better . But then I could be talking absolute b******s ![]()

| Re: replacement mouthpieces I am looking at the aqualung/apeks comfort fit mouth piece as well. I have used the the aqualung comfort fit mouth piece on my OC and it still gives me some discomfort and pain. I am finicky with my jaw after years of abuse in the kickboxing ring. So the comfobite could be great for some. I finally justified the price to pay $40 bucks for a mouth piece and went with a SeaCure on OC. I could not be happier!!!!! You mold it just like a mouth guard and there is almost no effort to retain. There was a recent thread on this subject on a different forum. From my understanding, if you decide to go with the SeaCure, you will need to first mold the bite side. Then take out the yellow plug and dip in the side that they say not to mold. Then slide that on the loop and it cools and forms a perfect seal. I have not personal experience, but plan on performing the above procedure. hope that helps.

| Re: replacement mouthpieces If you're mounting the Sea Cure just be careful not to over strech when you're putting it on or it will not stay on. Took me two tries. The secret is not to use too much heat. If you get it just warm enough to go on it will work perfectly, if you get it hot it overexpands in a matter of seconds. Best adjustment I ever did to the unit.

| Re: replacement mouthpieces I used to suffer with jaw ache with the standard inspo mouthpiece so decided to change it for a new one. It was a mould-able one, you dunk it in hot water and then bite on it to mould to your teeth. It's really good on OC but when I had to do some hard work on the unit at 35M and I really struggled catching my breath. Maybe it was psycological (?) but I changed it immediatly, since have had hard work at 50M+ with no issues. Wish the people who made the mouldable mouthpiece would make one with a deeper bite - I'd buy one in an instant!!! Hmm, might mail them to see actually! John

| Re: replacement mouthpieces Your other choice could be to try a Mantabite ,these are massive because you fit the flaps inbetween your lips/cheeks & your teeth . Padowan has one & lasst I heard was very happy with it ,I tried one & hated it
