| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Reading material for a new inspiration/vision diver Hi all, I am due to get my vision inspiration at the end of the year (maybe October). Do you guys have any recommendations for reading material before it arrives (in addition to the AP manual)? Has anyone got a recommendation for a source of information on diving techniques, maintenance, gas and dive planning procedures that would go well with the Inspiration Vision (appart from this forum of course)? My instructor is due to be Dave thompson and I think we will be in the Red Sea. Any suggestions for pre course preparation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thank you in advance. David. |

Still worthwhile, though.

| Re: Reading material for a new inspiration/vision diver I agree that you should read the manuel several times. I think I have read it 5 times over the past year. Good airplane material! In 2005 Tom Mount, David Sawatzky and Joerg Hess put out a good tech ccr book through IANTD called Tek Closed Circuit Rebreather. It has a lot of tech, wreck and cave info, but is also packed with lots of general ccr info and formulars. I dive an evo vision and classic inspo but have not come across any books (other than mag articles) about these units exclusively. IANTD does have an inspo training manuel but it is basically an older version of the current inspo classic training guide with some extra info thrown in at the end. If you go on the APV website you can dowload and inspo/evo specific test of about 100 questions. That will keep you busy! Dave |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Reading material for a new inspiration/vision diver Since the AP manuals are online definitely take advantage of it and read it more than once. I also second Bozanic's "Mastering Rebreathers". While he disregarded the Inspiration entirely, a huge oversight in my opinion given their popularity, it covers all the basics for rebreathers. I read through it once in its entirety and again through the CCR part before my class. It also happened to be the textbook we used, check with Dave (DaveT here at RBW) what textbook you'll be using and see if you can get it. The IANTD book is pretty good, get it down the line. Worth reading, and I like the picture inside the back cover. But no need to clutter your brain with more info than needed at this point.Rich Pyle's A Learner's Guide To Closed-Circuit Rebreather Operations Part One and Part Two can be found in our library. Highly recommended reading. ![]()

| Re: Reading material for a new inspiration/vision diver Kevin Gurr's book, 'Technical Diving from the Bottom Up' has some very useful rebreather tips in it - more technical than recreational, but still useful to apply.

Do you have some good tips/links about the web shops where I can get this manual? |

| Re: Reading material for a new inspiration/vision diver Hi Since I am a nerd by nature, I made a simple simulator for the Evolution Vision, to ease the pain of waiting until I can get my hands on the real thing.
