Do you guys have any recommendations for reading material before it arrives (in addition to the AP manual)? The supplied manual is quite comprehensive so I would suggest the 'Dive Sussex', 'Dive Dorset' and such guide books as you'll want a lot of time in the water to play with it.Have fun.

Re: Reading material for a new inspiration/vision diver Hi all, The APD manual is excellent so I'd encourage you to read it very thoroughly.I am due to get my vision inspiration at the end of the year (maybe October). Do you guys have any recommendations for reading material before it arrives (in addition to the AP manual)? Has anyone got a recommendation for a source of information on diving techniques, maintenance, gas and dive planning procedures that would go well with the Inspiration Vision (appart from this forum of course)? My instructor is due to be Dave thompson and I think we will be in the Red Sea. Any suggestions for pre course preparation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thank you in advance. David. Try and find someone in your diveclub who has a Vision and get them to go through it with you. This will give you a real advantage over seeing a Vision for the 1st time on your course. Ask them to demonstrate a few of its features. The book "Diving without Bubbles" is a lovely book all about diving on Inspirations written by several French divers which will inspire and educate you. Wonderful photographs but not a manual. You can buy it through this site.I read Bozanics book but didn't find it as useful as the manual. You might find reading the manual thoroughly enough as I assume you will also get a course manual? Charlie

Re: Reading material for a new inspiration/vision diver Your choice of instructor is excellent, so don't worry about missing out on anything... One more thing that WILL make a hue difference is the C-19 DVD (too lazy to find the link now, do a search here) that is "interactive" and by far the best instructional video I have seen showing CCR skills - specifically the YBOD. Well worth the investment!

Re: Reading material for a new inspiration/vision diver No exactly on topic but I read "The last dive" every year. It has nothing to do with rebreathers and the writing is a it average however it reminds me that litttle problems lead to big problems and stops me becoming complacent. That said, I tend to consume every bit of material I can get my hands on but none of it replaces a good instructor. As others have mentioned the manual is a great starting point.
