Could you use an Azzy valve inplace of a KISS valve. Have one source connected to the regular uncompensated first stage, and have the alernate source connected to small o2 tank with a compensated first stage, and in line flow restrictor.
No, not without some major modifications

The flow can be turned down to zero on a Aziumth dosage unit. But its not possible to use it as a normal "KISS"-valve all by itself. The reason is that one can not adjust the flow to such low flows. If one tries to get at stable flow from it the lower limit is around 1,5-2 l/min... It is simply designed to give flows in the 5-15 l/min range, not the flows used in a "KISS"-valve.

At least that is how my unit and the 2-3 other units I have been tinkering with have behaved.

Also using the Azimuth dosage as some form of switchblock is of limited use. It does not switch the flow on/off. In normal mode the flow is from primary gas and if the 'reserv'-gas is turned on the flow is from both gases...

I have heard that the dosage could work as a switching device but I have not seen that, maybe its a myth or something that exists on some versions of it?

It looks like it should be easy to rebuild it to work as a switching device but I have not bothered to tinker with mine.

Re: Manual gas addition on rear mounted lungs

Just a thought, but have you actually tried the inflators when they are behind you?

I found adding dil or O2 on BM lungs is actually easier than OTS because you are gripping the whole inflator and pressing with your thumb, which is a much stronger grip.

If you get John's adapter you could consider leaving the other inflators for redundancy?

Looking at that picture I thought the idea of rear mounted lungs was to unclutter the front but you seem to have gone totally the other way
So any chance of a look 11/12th of June when I'm hoping to see Pauls ?

Re: Rear lungs = less cluttered front ?????

Colin,
a quick look at the photo soon shows why the front looks cluttered as well, you are actualy looking at 2 Inspitations, 1 with front mounted lungs and 1 with back mounted lungs.
