| Re: Negative test. All of the YBODs and the Evolution I have owned have gone 24 hours plus on a neg. My Boris does about 2 minutes before the hose starts to lengthen and my Meg will do 24 hours no probs. Cheers, Dave Cooper.

| Re: Negative test. I've done an overnight neg test on my Vision but usually do about 30 mins for both pos and neg tests. As a comparatively new Inspiration Vision user, I'm happy using my ADV. Charlie www.aquanautdiveclub.co.uk |

(24 hours +) (Ooooops...I wont make a habit out of it). My rough rule of thumb is that I will suck it down to negative, then I will see how long I can hold my shirtails up my arse, then I will let it go! The Meg is tighter than my dive-buddies wallet....and thats watertight!!!! Ian

| Re: Negative test. I have had my classic for about 50 dives since new - the longest neg test it has held is about 5 mins, with the average about 3. If it holds for 2 to 3 mins, I am happy to dive with it. I think the reason for the short time its holds the test is that the inside surfaces on the "T" pieces are slightly rough. I have been lazy in not sanding them down Geordiediver |

My unit often held neg over night and all the way to the dive site in the boot of the car. Then I bought a KISS mouthpiece and I watch the DVD and there is Gorden saying don't do this as it buggers the ADV diaphragm? So is the ADV on a KISS significantly different to that of a YBOD or what? Was Gordon's opinion not universally held? By the by, I have a thick skin and I care much less about what people think of me and much more about gaining knowledge about my diving so I don't mind asking daft questions. No offense but answers like the one above can put people off asking questions because they are afraid of looking daft. I think the "didn't they teach you this on the course" type answer should be avoided if the more respected members of the forum wish to help others. ATB Mark Chase
