Re: It's Here...

Thanks from me to Phi and Steve also!

Mine just arrived 5 mins ago! Would love to go strip down my YBOD and install it, but have to do some work first

Nick, how are you going to mount the bottles? I've got some RB10/13 cam bands from AP which are just the right length for 3L bottles, but obviously too short if I have to use bigger tanks.

Re: It's Here...

P.S.

What might look like at first glance, a 6 year old girls bedroom, is in fact a tough blokes workshop, which he doesn't have to wait till certain members of the family are at school before he can start fiddling.....

Re: It's Here...

I don't think the cam bands from the original YBOD case are going to be suitable. You need something that will lock.

I haven't had time to strip my unit yet, but I've put the APD RB10/13 cam bands on the side of the travelframe and attached a cylinder to check the fitting. They seem to hold the tank pretty securely.

I don't think the velcro bands from the original box are really suitable, as they seem to just hold the cylinder in position inside the ABS shell. I think Janwillem used Scubapro cylinder cam bands, see post 72 and 82 here
http://www.rebreatherworld.com/inspi...avelframe.html

If you use standard APD cam bands, then the metal D on the buckle can cause the buckle to be less secure, so you may have to modify them slightly, as shown on Beanie's site
http://www.outlawdivers.org.uk/index.asp?page=107

I'll take some photos later with the unmodified cam bands so you can see the difference.

Will this do? It shows the metal bit touching the side of the cylinder, and the plastic cam buckle does not lie flush against the side either.
