'Deep Thought' probably, the pictures are on his website.

Beanie also made plate frames that they just put though their paces
in the red sea. Same idea, but they look taller. Pictures are in his blog.

Knowing that sort of setup from the PRISM, you want a cowling for it.

Have to agree, I dont see the advantage over having a simple travel frame.

Re: Inspo modification

Not much off just leaving the yellow bit at home.

Don't see an advantage and the disadvantage would be the added vulnerability.

For the Red Sea is the added vulnerability an issue? and it would definitely be easier to pack and easier to fit a range of 02 and dill tanks to.

I prefer the Travel frame as an option but its still an easy way of doing it without the fabrication issues.

All these people trying to get there Inspos to look like Megs you would have thought AP would have done something with that concept when they brought out the Vision. In these days of restrictions on flights sticking with the big yellow box was not a good plan.

Re: Inspo modification

Mostly depends on your diving. If your gear is tossed around in RIB or you're diving overhead environs you're better of with a cowling, cover, frame or box that protects the unit. Solid as the AP's connectors look, they come straight out of the head and are in harms way. Same for the screws that hold the head and scrubber together if the impact was hard enough I guess.

Going with the plate mounting idea, the DSS backplate & wing allow independent twins to mount directly with cambands. I wonder if you could rig a YBOD to it ...

The original YBOD is almost 10 years old, back then you had a few more pounds allowance and no one could predict that as many people would be diving them in as many places.

Re: Inspo modification

I've gone for a weeney frame, and will be putting my Halcyon plate and probably the wing too on it. I'll send some photo's of the finished job. My main reason is sreamlining and esentialising, the origonal package is nice enough and confortable, but way too bulky and comberson.. My filosofy is, if you don't NEED it, DUMP IT.
