Besides I know of a Stash of CIS-Lunar units , now if I could just go dive them that would be Awesome! Currently, the dive shop I mentioned earlier is talking about Meg's. We'll see. I know of another group locally that talked about getting into Prism units but that turned into vaporwhere. I know of one person has a unit on order. Amazing how things change but stay the same. Stuart- I was not trying to be rude or upeset you mate. I feel that alot of people have been fed Milarchy about units keeping their value and being able to sell you unit for almost full price. Those days are passing buy for older units. Not to mention used Kiss Classics are selling for 5K and moving. Sport Kiss units are going for $3500.00 new. Meg's seem to be really hot right now. I bet the used Inspriations could be moved easily at the $2500-to 3K (US) stand point. Most people want 5k for any used reptuable Closed Circuit unit. We'll see. But if we could move some units into different price ranges then we could grow the community and in the end thats what it is all about. Best Regards, Andrew |

(Just my crystal ball gazing here.) I sort of agree with you but I doubt that the Evo will completely replace the Inspo as I don't believe that this is what AP want to do. If you look at the Inspo 2 (the Inspo with the vision electronics) many of the components which have changed from the Classic are common with the Evo making it more likely that AP plan to be a two unit shop. I suspect that with the Evo being lighter, smaller, and having better elctronics, it won't be TOO bloody long before we get a factory announcement that the Evo is rated for Classic time limits, if not longer! (This is mere supposition on my part, but I believe it fits with what we are seeing.) ![]() As for the CE rating, when I spoke to MP at LIDS he stated that the official scrubber time is the CE rated time. However, he also said that the temp stick may allow people to push this further if they wanted to take that risk (nudge, nudge, wink, wink ).As for the Classic, well I believe its days are numbered too. I'm sure AP will continue to produce spares and perhaps a small number of complete Classic units for a short time but I can't see AP maintaining the tooling required to produce them for much longer.

I suppose thats possible but I can't see what the saving for them will be. The Evo and Inspo 2 are basically the same unit appart from the harness, case and canister so why loose sales from divers who want a longer duration rebreather? It can't be a cost saving issue so why else would they do it?

| Strangley I know 6 of divers getting the new Vision unit and only one getting the Evo.. I dont know if this statistic is meeningfull but thats whats hapening here. The chap who got the Evo is keeping his clasic and getting the Vision scrubber and housing so he can have an evo and a Vision rig using one electronics head. I will be diving the Evo tomorow so hopfulley I will make up my mind on the unit then. ATB Mark Chase

More than 1 person has given up on delivery of a smaller manufacturer's rebreather and bought an inspiration (new or used...). Now that others are stepping up to the plate and you can get a new sport KISS for less than a used inspiration, market forces are sure to drive that used price down. tim |

| Well Stuart I can tell you that in Southern Cal everyone is upgrading their Inspirations with the new electronics and the Scrubber monitor. Very few people I know (but I am one of them) plans on replacing their Insp with an Evo. MOst people seemed to be turned off with the smaller scrubber and smaller bottles. However, reports from Evo divers are that when used with the scrubber monitor, scrubber is lasting in the 4-5 hour range. If used w/o the monitor, the stated scrubber time is only 2 hours. I think size is a big factor, especially for traveling. It only took me 30 seconds of looking at the Evo to realize I needed one.
