Here are a few taken during assembly:

The s.s sheet material is 16 gauge (1.6mm thick) and despite its thickness, it is strong enough to resist bending/ twisting. I cant remember how much it weighed, but I think it was about 4kg.

Paul,

Have you noticed any balance issues with the rig being moved 2 inches further away from your back??

Thanks

Hi Mark,

Thats a subjective question. Like I said in the article, it seems to put me in the water much like using a wing - where balance is very forgiving. I dont tend to have any cylinders on the side of the unit anymore, but now and then I will use an ali 3L, and my point is, I dont tend to notice that either.

Thank you. A small batch will be prepared soon. I have redesigned the s.s. box so it can be used as a backplate - if desired - and will post progress pictures in a couple of weeks. This will give people a better idea of the design - and will see it to be more generic.

regards
paul

OK, perhaps I'll do a batch of 5 for starters. 10 would be better though folks - you'll all benefit as I can pass the savings on.

So far, it'll be:
1. Divegryl - PAID
2. Andy
3. Decowarrior
4. Edster - cos he reaaaaally wants one or 'a.n.other', but Edster's got the breaking strain of a kit-kit on this occasion - I can sense it
5. ????????...whos the lucky one..??

6 - 10..?? (UK based divers to begin with please).

I want to sort out some details with the s.s box and firm up on manufacturers who are prepared to do it in small batches - then get one made, Q.A. it so I am happy and then,as the rest of it is done, it'll be in the post pretty quickly i'd suggest.

I'll do it as readily as I can. In 4 months I will be a Chartered Architect so I really have got quite a lot on at the moment - this will not suffer, just bear with me whilst I sort out the details. Thanks.

Re: Paul C’s Inspo with back-mounted lungs.

List update: 2 more coming along shortly...

1. Divegryl - PAID
2. Andy
3. Decowarrior
4. Brian Jarvis
5.
6.
7....

Edster - I took you off as you didn't formally put your name down.

I will get some cost advice on the modifications I have made to the s.s box this week. I'll keep the thread posted.

regards
