Why did you hack a backplate around the DT box..??

Well so far I havent - but this might encourage me to do so, as I've always quite liked the AP harness and as the counterlungs are in the way anyway, its never seemed worth going the harness and backplate route. However, this is tempting me big style!! Put me down as a tentative... I'm thinking maybe a weenie-frame with this would be verrrry nice indeed. Why did you hack a backplate around the DT box..??

I no longer own an Inspiration, however if I did, I would be ordering one of these kits without hesitation. It appears to be well thought out and demonstrates some very good problem solving skills. I said it earlier and I will say it again, well done to Paul and to John for their hard work. Cheers, Dave Cooper.

Just to reiterate for clarity, the intention is to make the s.s box the backplate - it will have harness slots cut into it. Another backplate can be added instead (like mine) and this is good for weight - i.e. adding in cold water, or using just the box when travelling - it makes it flexible, more likely to suit peoples different needs and you have choices.regards paul

Thanks Dave, maybe you might get another Inspiration though, you know *nudge* I said it earlier and I will say it again, well done to Paul and to John for their hard work. Cheers, Dave Cooper. - rhetorical question - I know your pleased with your current 'children'. That's all I'm trying to do for mine.IMO it does give it a good combination of qualities from many rebreathers: - the clear chest of the KISS - and all that offers - good WOB - like I said, I'm not an expert, but IMHO it seems the same - retains watertrap features for safety - full eCCR - or manual if you want - use it as a parachute (much like others are doing with aftermarket leccies) - the familiarity of the Inspo with UK sourced parts - maintenance is a joy AND you dont have to change units and pay for a new course..!! The only thing you cant do is crush the lungs (like every other BM C'lung Rebreather out there) or plug in another gas to the lungs direct (you still can via GCS or similar to other parts of the RB of course - so you have options). regards paul
