| XLVI WC! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: ADV Flow stop Hi Pierre My flowstop works so when the slider is moved down it is turned off, to turn it on you push the slider up/ away from you. Beanie's works the same. Beanie said that if it is the AP we think you can turn it round/ upside down and it will work still We colour coded mine so when it was off the exposed bit was coloured red, and when on green, because I get easily confused ![]() Hope that helps. Lou x Happy Belated Birthday ![]()

| Re: ADV Flow stop Down off, Up on. if its the AP one there will be 1 line on the bottom and 2 lines on the top of the black slider indicating off(1 line) and on(2 lines), not sure on the apexs one though. ATB Gareth |

| Re: ADV Flow stop (AP) Quote: (Originally Posted by Pierre Farrugia) Hello all, Pierre,Today my buddy installed a flow stop and is working reverse order to mine! Can you please check on yours which way is open ? There are two different designs out there.. Personally I prefer the ones that allow gas to pass when the valve is towards the device that needs gas, and away you stop the gas.. to me this is the logical way.. near=toghether=pass, away=break=stop.. This is the main reason I will not use an AP flow stop because in my mind the logic is backwards.. I can't see how away from the device means let the gas flow... Maybe its a British thing ![]()

Due to the countours and o-rings inside the collar this seems to give the user the option to run it either way. Whether this is a design feature, or a serendipitious bonus I'm not sure. For me, I pull the collar towards the ADV to shut it off, I prefer it this way, as the pull down is easier to do than the push back up. If I need to get to it quickly, then the pull down is faster for me. |

Whether this is a design feature, or a serendipitious bonus I'm not sure. yes thats a plus, but you could also look at it this way as well, if you forgot to turn it on and neede gas quickly and for some reason your manual add was inaccessible, pulling down to turn it ON is easier..For me, I pull the collar towards the ADV to shut it off, I prefer it this way, as the pull down is easier to do than the push back up. If I need to get to it quickly, then the pull down is faster for me. For me the fast off thing isn't a plus.. I only use the ADV on desecnt (if I enable it at all - I usually only use it on high task load high current dives)then immediately shut it off for the rest of the dive..

How did you color (American spelling ![]() ) it? Is the coloring staying there after a number of uses? The Optima is down (moved in the direction of flow to the ADV) when on/open, and it is up when off/closed. |
