I would think that opening and closing it a few times would remove all of the coloring, or that the water exposure would do this. What did you use? They do come off abit over time but last at least a year or so and its simple to re colour anyway ![]()

| Re: ADV Flow stop Can't remember without looking but it is the one from SDS in the US, right now I am experimenting with leaving the ADV on for varying lengths of the dive to see what is best. I used an AP one when doing the training but I found it to be too unreliable. It caused a minor leak in the loop which caused the negative check to fail. Apparently this had happened before and was a known problem (maybe just with this one unit). The one from SDS seems to be very reliable. ![]() |

Unless they started selling someon else's product they were selling the APD one.. The most reliable one in my oprinion is from m&j engineering.. Oxycheq used to be the main source but now there are a few people who sell them..I used an AP one when doing the training but I found it to be too unreliable. | Re: ADV Flow stop I like Joe's logic pattern there. near=together=pass away=break=stop It fits with the idea of pulling the connections apart (away) to disconnect it (stop). Nice one, Joe! ![]()

| Re: ADV Flow stop The M&J valves work the same as the APD ones (off towards the ADV) but you can rotate the slide to get it to work the other way around. I had the APD valve on mine but swapped it with the M&J one because it was a lot more definitive in the on/off slide action. I found the APD valve could be easily shut off with a slight bump of the slide valve meaning that you were sucking air like golf balls through a hose to get a breath until you hit the manual add. I like it off towards the ADV because I can easily reach back and pull it down to shut it off. I generally close mine on deco and then flush with O2.

I have been selling the M&j stuff since day one (for the wide cutooff) and everyone I got shutts off away from the adv.. I havent tried the narrow one..I had the APD valve on mine but swapped it with the M&J one because it was a lot more definitive in the on/off slide action.
