Re: lightweight back plate Angie, I have one of the DeepSeaSupply backplates above...not used it (yet!!) with my YBOD but they are certainly strong enough I would suspect - have used in with 15 litre tank and two 7 litre stages without problems. Extremely light... Their harness is also very comfortable - and easy to adjust without having to unravel everything. DeepseaSupply also make underwing D-rings and the webbing to hold down metalwork... Company were great with the shipping to UK - can recommend them Steve Last edited by UKSteve : 10th January 2006 at 16:45.

Re: lightweight back plate I just ordered an Oxycheq backplate which weighs in at 1kg. With the Weenie box and jiblets that should make my CCR housing about 7kg* for flying (1st stages go in my pockets). * Doesn't include lime and tanks. http://www.oxycheq.com/backplates.html ![]() Fil

Re: lightweight back plate I've got the DSS plastic backplate for my Kiss when I travel. I've had no real problem with it, but have kept it out of the sun! (there is a warning sticker on it about exposure to high temps). The only niggle is that the mounting holes seemed lower on the plate so the unit was V high on my back.

Re: lightweight back plate Drop me a pm... I've an old aluminium one (DiveRight) that I've hammered flat somewhere... I used it on my Azi. (You could easily rebend it if needed) It ain't too pretty any more.. I'm not a panel beater If you can pick it up, you are welcome to it... Assuming I can find it... that is... Mark

I am just wondering if that was based on my feed-back to Tobin.Seriously, it is a very nice plate. Just don't keep it out in the direct sunlight to dry with the rest of the gear when visiting tropical destinations.
