| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | I just received my Vision upgrade and I now have a few dives on it and I love it especially the HUD ![]() But I find it very difficult to operate the buttons with my 7 mm, 3-finger gloves. It is almost impossible to access the menu, when under water. Do you guys have the same problem Do you have a solution![]() Tom F. |

Sorry, it has been at least 7 years for me since leaving Norway so I might not remember exactly the feeling of diving with mittens. But to initiate the menu system, you need to press 2 buttons at the same time. So I understand using mittens will make that difficult. Perhaps you could change to 5-finger gloves ? I know it will be colder on the fingers, but will make it easier to access the buttons.

| Re: Buttons on Vision Tom, I've had a vision for some months now and one button is difficult to operate with gloves on... Talking to Martin, the next upgrade (software) is meant to address this, making the buttons a little easier to operate. I think they are effectively piezo cells (I may be wrong) so it's relatively simple to change the way they are recognised. (This is an assumption on my part... I've been known to be wrong!!!!!!!!) To be fair, I now wear the handset on the left D-ring rather than on my wrist. (Found the HUD got in the way of looking at it). This means I can operate the buttons with both hands... thumbs are much better than fingers... solves the problem nicely. It also keeps the Handset out of harms way... My VR3 looks like it's been hit by a car from all the routing around I do on wrecks or getting Lobbies & Crabs( )... The Evo handset is still nice and shiny after 7 months...Give it a try... I prefer it that way. Thumbs work better with Mittens (3 finger gloves) anyway... Cheers, Mark Last edited by MAD : 29th December 2005 at 14:39. |

Went back to my 3mm ones which are nice and easy to get on and off and I can feel in them... however, you're further North than me and its colder up there ![]()

Hang it on a D Ring and use both thumbs. Trying to use fingers while the unit is on your wrist is a pita. |

My handset is hanging which makes it easier to operate using drysuit dry gloves. The buttons are a bit stiff but seem to work fine, fingers or thumbs. Westwinds. ![]()

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Buttons on Vision Thanks for your answers, maybe I should consider hanging the wrist unit on a chest D-ring. It is possible for me, to press one button With the free thump so it will also work with 2 thumps. Or I should change to drygloves, but I havent found a system that works well with neoprene wrist seals Quote: (Originally Posted by MAD) Talking to Martin, the next upgrade (software) is meant to address this, making the buttons a little easier to operate. I hope AP Change the way the buttons work, maybe they could change the time you have to press the 2 buttons, so you can press the two buttons with the same thump with eg. max 2 second interval and still access the menu or shut the unit down.
