| XLVI WC! ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ![]() Excuse me chaps! Sorry for that ![]() Have had to bin another dive this morning because of my blinking unit! Whilst I am getting used to the fact that I can not remove my head from my scrubber canister... the other week it took ONLY 2 hours to remove it... It will hold POSITIVE pressure WITHOUT the catches done up! This morning I go to put my unit together the head will NOT fit into the canister ![]() It goes so far and then stops! I have checked it for jams, obstructions etc but nothing. Yet it will not fit into the canister properly! We have done nothing different to what we have done in the past. Where the unit is kept, how it is stored etc, it has not got cold; in fact it was in the house and has been for a week. We even gently warmed the canister but to no avail. Taking the head apart the cage around the electronic will fit nicely in, well with a little bit of help it is very tight. But the actual head itself will not fit!!!! Examining the head unit, there are noticable scratches also on the cage from the tight fit of the head in the canister. I have 4 weeks before my Red Sea trip and one is not amused! I still have not had a software fix from APD for the Nitrox Vision. They have not also advised whether the unit is safe to dive or not and I keep getting fobbed off with the fix will be out next week, but it does not appear! With the level of customer service I have been receiving recently from them I doubt that I will have my unit fixed and back in time for my holiday! If it really is that simple!! Anyhow, rant over I was wondering if you guys with Visions out there would be good enough to measure the internal diameter of your canisters for me and the 2 diameters of the head (the cage and the actual head). Too say I am annoyed is mildy putting it ![]() Cheers Lou Anyone got a Meg they want to sell me ![]() Last edited by Louby Lou : 28th December 2005 at 13:49. |

I have to say, it does seem like the visions are suffering more than their fair share of problems. Given that many issues, I'd be having a serious discussion with AP to ascertain exactly whats causing the problems and their proposed plans to fix it. If I'd had anything like this level of problems, I think my unit would've been sent back by now... not fit for purpose. Fingers crossed AP manage to get everything sorted ![]()

As Zak says, there comes a time under English Law, when not fit for purpose is easily provable and pertinent. And seeing as all sales (Ex-USA) are made in the UK then English Law applies whatever country you are in. Personally if I was buying from AP at present, I would go with the Classic. Cheers, Dave Cooper.

Hi Lou, mentioned before that my Vision is also very difficult to open.... but not THAT difficult...Anyway, to answer your question... Canister = 152mm Cage and head= 151mm Has to be said that the cage ain't circular though... more of an elipse... so the measurement is at its widest part... the average would be a little below this, probably 150mm. Hope this helps... What version of Nitrox software are you on? Suffering from the timing problem or more? Mark Last edited by MAD : 28th December 2005 at 15:43. |

We are in the process of measuring and taking photos ![]() The whole thing is ridiculuous ![]() I am "-" this close to sending it back to AP... I've have no end of problems with the unit out of the 6 months I've had it; 3.5 months of that have been spent on dryland as the software issue is still not fixed and no one will advise what the problem is or if it is actually safe to dive ![]() I really don't want to forfeit my holiday but the way things are going...................... ![]()

Lou, the amount of people that have had to cancel dives due to poorly manufactured equipment is beyond belief. I have had to cancel and reshedule 3 Mod 1 courses due to damaged units that were delivered. Did I ever get any compensation? Did I hell as like. Clearly, they just do not give a toss. Cheers, Dave Cooper.
