| Re: APD Communicator Thanks for all the replys, I tried it on my mates Dell laptop last night, and it worked a treat so cut and pasted dives into my laptop. Graham, I know this is probably a stupid question but did you turn the YBOD on at the hand set and get "PC Link" up on the display? Leon |

| Re: APD Communicator I have had the same problem, works on one pc but not on another. I think its something to do with the way the usb ports are managed and the amount of power the pc alocates to the ports. I have a speed camera detector that can be updated via usb and have the same problems with that, works on one pc but not the other best Dave |

Yup, sure did so at least the YBOD knew it was connected. Leon Re Dave's comment. I think he's right; the problem is one of inadequate power being delivered from the USB port to the serial device. When I was setting up my Vytec, only one out of three USB-Serial converters I tried actually worked; the Apple shop technowiz said it was probably due to the serial portion needing more juice than it was getting from the Mac. Technical standards anyone????? ![]() But who cares? This morning's dive (#3 on my new Evolution) on one of the wrecks off Sydney's northern beaches was a ball-tearer. Calm sea, sunny day, warm water, good viz, 38 minutes @ 45 - 47 metres with a total dive time of 84 minutes. Bliss Graham |
