| Re: feedback on Decoweenie travelframe Oh ja, I almost forgot to tell you. To make the unit universal I have been looking arround to find the ideal connection for different size bottles. Since 90% of the time I will use the 3 ltr bottles I do not want to use those horrible cambuckles. Instead I used the scubapro bottle system that works fantastic! Also for smaller bottles. With the same belt you are able to lock 3 - 10 ltr bottles! Check this out: ![]() They are expensive.... I payed euro 44 each.. Regards; Janwillem |

From the other thread on this same subject, the weight difference between the Inspiration case and Travel-Frame is a little more than 1 kg (?)Everything else should remain the same since you simply move the components from one case to another. However, the advantage is more than just this weight difference...

| Custom Title Allowed! Current Rebreather/s: | The perforated frame weighs 2.0 kilo/4.5Lbs, the plain lid 2.3/5.0 Lbs. This is about 2 kilo lighter than the standard casing. But weight is only one thing, there are other advantages. The biggest advantage of the frame is that you can leave your cylinders at home. If you dive an Evolution, you can use 3L cylinders destined for the Inspiration, or if those aren't available, attach larger cylinders, such as the 5 liters used on the dolphin, or al40's. If really needed, you can even use 7 liters or - if absolutely necessary - al80's. The frame is also small, so you have more room in your suitcase to pack 'standard' luggage - such as clean underwear , extra t-shirts or some bags of lime. On some airlines you could even take the frame as carry-on (hand-luggage). As the frame is lighter than the standard casing, it feels more nimble in the water (less mass) - so more agile when diving. Even though it is 2 kilo lighter, stainless steel is a lot denser than plastic, so you need less lead compared to the standard casing. It has lot's of holes so you can adapt the position of the breather on your backplate. This helps finding a better trim. It allows doing 'non-standard stuff', such as mounting the cylinders upright. It looks cool ![]() etc etc etc. Steven |

We have decided to include 2 bolts and wingnuts on the 2nd batch to save the trouble.Read the earlier posts about the straps (on this thread and on the design thread). You will need straps similar to what is used for single tank OC, found in any dive shop. The straps came with the Inspiration are not secured when using outside of the case since it uses velcro to tighten.

Regards; Janwillem I've also got the weenie frame and had some similar (though not Scubapro) cambands as above lurking in the garage. What I have found is that a 3 litre tank is just too small for them to grip properly. I have never been a great fan of standard cambands but I was wondering if anyone else out there had come up with a different solution. I like the idea of SS wormed bands, but I'm wondering if they'll be stable enough. Any thoughts advice would be welcome |
