Re: feedback on Decoweenie travelframe

Phi,
What kind of cost would I be looking at for getting a travel frame to Boston? I would guess it would be similar to what Joe paid.

Re: feedback on Decoweenie travelframe

Erik,

The details are outlined HERE...

Steven is on leave until the end of July so nothing is shipped until he is back in August.

And AFAIK, there is only 1 TF left ready to be shipped right away.

After that one is gone, we will go into waiting-list system as mentioned in the main Trafvel-Frame thread since the sales has been slowed down in the last months. Whoever interested will be on a list, once the list reaches a minimum number, Steven will start to manufacture another batch.

Re: feedback on Decoweenie travelframe

Hi Phi

Yes it is a standard manifold taken from a new Inspiration Vision delivered about a month ago. The 2nd screw hole appears to be about 10mm too far apart from the first.

Graham

I have attached a picture, I'm sorry, I'm not sure how to embed it.

Graham

you just need to fix it with the one screw, as long as its done up quite firmly it wont go anywhere

Re: feedback on Decoweenie travelframe

Graham,

I asked Dave T to reply to your question since I haven't had to use the TF yet. No overseas dive trips this year for me...

Re: feedback on Decoweenie travelframe

I currently use a DT box with 2 x 7 ltr cylinders (dil and 50%) with a 2ltr O2 mounted underneath. This does down to 60M or so and means no side slung cylinders. Only issue is I get back ache. Does anyone know how the travel frame would compare regarding trim and how good or bad it is on your back? I know that I could go to convertional side mounting with my DT box, but I did still experience some back ache with it even then, I am guessing due to trim and the length of the thing.

Has anyone tried the 2 x 7ltr and bum mounted O2 bottle on the travel frame.

I recommend that you don't use such config with the Travel-Frame.

It wasn't meant to be used with 2 x 7+ liter and O2 tanks. The design idea was to have the lightest frame for "travel" to warm holiday locations, hence the name.
