Hope this explains it, it does work well. Rob |

Sounds good. since a view days i got the frame, but no time to take a closer look for fixing the harness. all i know is, i want to make the Rebreather as lightweight as possible for travelling. No backplate..so your info comes the right time. Thanks Rob!I found that the back of the harness was stiff enough and also the travel frame helped to secure and support the harness. Mine weighs in at 3.596kg on my set of scales. (the scales have not been calibrated this year), but I have seen one nearer 3.5kg too.Cheers Giles.

| Re: feedback on Decoweenie travelframe Just dove for 12 days on the Travel Frame in Malpelo and Cocos Island. No problems and the frame took a beating against a lot of volcanic rock. I used the boat's 13cf cylinders with my Buddy valves and it all worked great. ![]() |

| Custom Title Allowed! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: feedback on Decoweenie travelframe Mark, we added the reinforcing bar at the last moment when we felt that the lid was 'flimsy' without. In the beginning we spotwelded them on, later we TIG welded them for extra solidity. You don't really need the bar but the lid is much stronger with the bar. If you wish, I can send you either a new folded bar (if you lost yours), you could then either: - find a welder that could weld the reinforcement bar back on (easy, 3 tacks should do it); - drill 2 / 3 holes and fasten the bar with stainless steel rivets or small M4 bolts and nuts. Alternatively, ship me the lid back and I'll fix it for you if you have trouble finding a local welder. Sorry for your problem, but at least the frame is still useable! Steven |

Steven I still have the bar, I used the frame without it and it came unclipped at the top during the dive. The base plate is quite flimsy so it allows the frame to move up wards and unclip. I was going to try areldite but perhaps Ill look into getting it welded first. ATB Mark Chase C

Steven I finally got around to strainghtening (well mostly) all the bends and I think a few "reinforcement" bars are necessary.. 1 across the bottom square, and two more to vertically to connect the bottom square to where the BP bar on the middle square ends and in front to bottom of middle square.. I am toying with the idea of cuttong off the bottom "square" and making anothet square section for it, so that this lower section can be revoved for transport, and connect at destination by simply using 4 screws..
