New harness on the vision inspiration & where's my inner D rings??

Hi,
I just wondering what people are making of the new harnesses? AP have kindly removed the "inner" D ring which sits on the inside edge of the counter lungs. I've got the feeling that I'm going to really miss this as I clip loads of knack nacks to this D ring, which separates these items from my side slings on the outside edge D rings. AP are too busy at the moment to customize my order & put these highly useful D rings back on! Maybe it won't be an issue, or maybe I'll have to put my old harness on my new unit.

James.

Won't you have to put your old counter lungs on?
i use my inner D Rings to clip my handsets off to guess that wouldn't be a problem if I had shiney vision

I'll have to see what it looks like & how it handles. Currently I use the Inner D rings to clip my crotch straps to & my video camera. Whoever came up with the idea of "improving" the harness be removing the inner D rings need shooting! Although it will be nice to have an extra D ring on the outside. I reckon I can mount the video camera like a stage without any issuses, but clipping the crotch straps to those inner D rings makes life easier, instead of trying to find clip points on the belt on a rocking rib & they hold my joey pouch in place as well.

Re: New harness on the vision inspiration & where's my inner D rings??

I've threaded a split ring through each of the bottoms of the counterlungs (through the "loop" of webbing that the female part of the counterlung clip is threaded through). This gives an additional place to clip stuff to at the bottom of each lung.

The rings are only an inch or so across so they're not very big and can be hard to "hit" but I tend not to use them for "operational" items, only for stowing things for the ascent, for example.

I'll post a picture when I get home on Thursday.

Can you not use the waist belt for the crotch straps?

I can do, but trying to find them when the loop and counter lungs get in the way can be tricky, thats why I moved the clip point to the inner D ring. I will have to see what the new harness is like and how my gear sits on it. It's due at the end of this month (supposedly), so not long to wait. It might be a case that I stop using the crotch straps.

Re: New harness on the vision inspiration & where's my inner D rings??

Think the design may have changed (again?)

I collected my Inspo Vision at the beginning of December and can confirm
that there are D rings fitted at the bottom of each of the counterlungs, facing 'inboard'

The harness shoulder straps have two D rings each, both facing 'outboard', one level with the buckle and one below.

The wing has one D ring at the bottom on each side (I use the left one to store the drysuit hose until I connect it)

There are also two on the waistbelt, making 10 in all (enough for me)

Yo ho ho
