| replace yellow box Dear all I currently dive a classic with the original yellow box. I have two 10L as bail out that act as sea anchors. I have borrowed a friends decoweenie travel cage, it is great to dive with but will not stand up to 10L being strapped to the side! Do any of you know of a cage that is not silly money that will cope with my 10L steels on the side? I really don't want to have to go and buy even more cyliners! Any comments gratefully received. Cheers Mark |

Cheers Mark have you considered sidemounting those 10 liters? Less drag, totally independent bailout, easy to handle, ... Peter |

| Re: replace yellow box Hi Mark How about using an Armadillo sidemount system as opposed to having the gas onboard with a frame. As for frames/cages, Micheal Hearn's Alibox and titanium box have good comments here, as does John Perrin's (Kent Tooling) cage. I use an armadillo system with the standard inspo and it has streamlined my unit and side cylinders very well. PH |

| Submerge Productions Current Rebreather/s: | Re: replace yellow box That is what I would like to do but not found anything strong enough to cope with 10L's. With side mounting I mean the "cave diver way", and not "having the tanks on the frame". Most in our group use the Decoweenie Travelframe with onboard 3 liters steel tanks and 2 80s side mounted. Works like a dream.Mark |

| Re: replace yellow box I use a DT box and mount 2 X 7ltr cylinders on it one with tmix dil and one with 50 NX. I then run a 3 or 2 ltr O2 bottle either behind the 50 or in the gap at the bottom of the cage. I do all my dives with this set up I have a reg round my neck from the dil and a separate small reg with flow stop for the 50 - my suit is run from my 50 and my wing from the dil - suffer from seasickness and one of my primary concerns is speed and easy of kit up on the boat. Underwater the unit is very well balanced and nice to dive with down to about 60m Any deeper and you could start adding side slings if required. |
