| Low battery warning Hi folks I took my 2nd hand YBOD diving for the first time on saturday and its got a fault, I keep getting low battery warnings on 1 handset even though the batteries are brand new fujitsus anyone got any suggestions on what it could be? I am sending it back to AP but just would like to know. I have checked the battery compartment and its fine and has the spring contacts, also I have checked the handset which doesnt seem to have any cracking or moisture inside. |

I am sending it back to AP but just would like to know. I have checked the battery compartment and its fine and has the spring contacts, also I have checked the handset which doesnt seem to have any cracking or moisture inside. Though I tried other brands of batteries, like the Panasonic and Duracell. The problem also when calibrating, where I used the left handset as Master or diving in cold waters. I now use the right handset as master and all the problems are gone. The slave works just fine now. Also you could check the IP on the oxygen first stage, 'they say' that if that's to high the battery is to weak to open the selenoid and is drown. |

| Re: Low battery warning Hi, We've had the same problems in the past. I'd say there is either corrosion on your springs in your BBox or the soldering on the four wires that connect to the springs is old and causing issues. When we've had this prob we have soldered in a new battery box and be done with the issue. Unfortunately AP doesn't sell just the replacement springs. I'm no expert so best option is to post back to AP. I hope you get the problem sorted.

| Re: Low battery warning I had the exact same problem. Hi,I now use the right handset as master and all the problems are gone. The slave works just fine now. Simply swapping handsets doesn't solve the problem. If you've got a battery issue with your master the handset will more than likely work fine as the slave......until it has to take over as the master, then the problem of low battery will return. Hope

| Re: Low battery warning Hi, Had the same problem whilst diving in Scapa. Changed the batteries but still the same. Sent the head back to AP and it turned out to be a corroded solenoid. Think it cost about £40-£50 to replace, tip top now!! ![]() |
